Panorama with young kids

Any suggestions for vising the area with a 6 and 9 yr old? Banff, sightseeing, hot springs, etc...? Thanks!

What time of year are you planning to visit?

Panorama is very quiet in during non-ski season. Incredible golf course - Grey Wolf - world class vistas.

Would not recommend you stay here in "off-season" - most restaurants close; Inveremere - down the mountain - is right on the lake and offers "much more". . .

www.kootenayrockies.com - "some ideas" - see "Hot Springs" link.

Thanks for the quick replies! (Love TA!). We're actually Club Intrawest members and I'm trying to plan our next vacation. We're thinking of Whistler for spring break 2011 but Panorama is also a Club Intrawest location. Banff doesn't look far from Panorama.

Intrawest "housing pool" at Panaroma is getting old.

Head's up as well = local group has bought out Intrawest's interests at Panorma. Check your "Club" status for 2011,

Skiing is usually quite good in the spring with long main run off lift being quite skiable for all.

Banff and Lake Louise are equidistance from Panorama - two driving hours to either.

I would not come here with children your age in non-ski season - this is a ski resort with short golf season and deep dark shoulder seasons - unless your kids like long walks there really isn't much here for 150 days/year..

Fairmont Hot Springs is not far away - 45 driving minutes; there is "Interval" partners, there, as well.

When is your "Spring Break" - ? Sunshine and Lake Louise are best bets for late spring skiing in the Canadian Rockies.

Thanks for the info! Looks like Whistler might be a good summer destination with the kids. I'm still doing research but we would like to use our Club Intrawest membership to get us out of the July/August Texas summer heat. Thanks!

While I like Panorama and always have, if it is a comparison between Whistler, you and your family would have much more to do at Whistler than Panorama. There is a larger village there and the Peak to Peak gondola. Panorama would be good if you are looking for a quieter vacation.
