Hornets-Panthers Games

We are coming to Charlotte Nov 3-6 weekend for a Hornets game that Saturday and a Panthers game that Sunday! Our hotel is the Fairfield Inn and Suites Airport because we had enough points for free nights! We are flying in. Do you think we will need to rent a car to get to the games? We are trying not to do that! Do you think Uber or Lyft will be more expensive? What else should we visit while there? We love museums! Thanks in advance for any help you can give. Is the airport a safe area??

Plenty of museums uptown (near the stadium and arena). The Levine Museum of the New South, Gantt African-American Art museum, The Uptown Mint, The Mint (a bit out of uptown), And several others, plus the NSCAR Hall of Fame. I'd suggest getting an Uber or Lyft to uptown mid-morning, walk around, got to some of the museums, eat lunch uptown, visit a few more museums or Bechtler Park if the weather is nice. Then head to the appropriate venue. The EpiCenter has a movie theatre and bowling alley as well as restaurants and clubs, so that would also be a good choice for some of your time. One of the days, you might want to visit the Billy Graham Center and/or the Aviation museum, both of which are not too far from your hotel, so cab or Uber/Lyft. There aren't any good restaurants near your hotel, so plan accordingly.

Just curious, was there not a closer hotel your points could have been used at?

Thanks so much for your reply. No other Marriott hotels would’ve taken all of our points! Your advice has been so helpful. When we arrive around 9am we will head straight to the Oral Roberts Library!

Billy Graham Library= not Oral Roberts. That would be a VERY LONG cab ride out west. LOL
