Washington DC to Niagara-overnight stay?

Hi,

we are planning to drive from Wshington to Niagara Falls (Canada or US not yet decided). As it seems to be a long journey-do you have any suggestions for a nice and interesting place to stay overnight ? (No need to be exactly in the middle between these places)

Thanks

Silke

The drive from D.C. to Niagara Falls can easily be done in a day.

If you enjoy the outdoors you may want to spend some time near Allegheny State Park, which has camping, hiking, etc.

Ellicotville, NY is a popular tourist destination with nice shops and cafes.

And, of course Buffalo has some nice things to do as well, as it is the 2nd largest city in NYS.

Really just depends on what you're interests are and how much time you have to spend.
