Lunch in Taos

will be traveling down from Colorado Springs on Nov. 21st to Santa Fe and am thinking of stopping in Taos for lunch and a quick walk around and heading the low road then to Santa Fe.

recommendations for lunch? Wife and two teenage daughters in tow and would love something that's local, and regional in food... We love to try things we can't get at home...

In and around the Plaza suggestions:

Graham's Grille is a sit-down higher-end dining experience with lots of menu choices. They don't serve mid-afternoon, but lunch can be a nice experience.

Eske's Brew Pub, if open, is just off the east side of the Plaza tucked back off the main street. What we love about it is how the food is prepared fresh for the guests.

El Gamal, behind the West side of the Plaza on La Dona Luz Street, is a tasty local take on Middle Eastern Vegetarian. Locals love it.

Down the street a short drive (a few blocks -- not a walk) is LuLa's. It's been named the best Deli Sandwich in the state by New Mexico Magazine. Really good assortment of offerings in an old filling station.
