return from Phu Quoc to Singapore flying?

Hi there all,

Just in the planning stage at present, would like to travel Australia Singapore/Hanoi or Ho Chi Min direct, with a 6 night stay at a nice resort.

Not into water sports.

Have heard Phu Quoc Island is absolutely fabulous place.

What I would like would be either fly direct to Hanoi or Ho Chi Min for 5 nights, then fly to Phu Quoc for 6 or 7 nights,

Then fly Phu Quoc to Singapore.

Can you get a flight from there to Singapore?

Cheers Jules :-)

You fly to Hanoi for some activities tour : Hanoi city tour; Halong tour and back to Hanoi , fly to Ho Chi Minh city for city tour then take flight to Phu Quoc for relax. There is no direct flight from Phu Quoc to Singapore, you will be transit via Ho Chi MInh

The runway is a little short for most jets but who knows what'll be flying in and out of Phu Quoc and to where, once they open the new airport.

For now though, it's a trip back to HCMC to really get anywhere else.

You have got some reseach to do. Only 2 local Vietnam airlines operate to/from Phu Quoc and Ho Chi Minh. Depending on the time of year that you travel, it may be prudent to build in a overnight SGN connection.

Is there a reason for going via Singapore ? Also look at BKK and KUL as hub ports for your holiday. I found the best deal from Oz was via KUL.

We are just back from Phu Quoc. Excellent people, excellent Island and a excellent holiday

if you come to north of Vietnam, don't miss Ha long bay and sapa. after that you take flight to Ho chi minh for 2 days is enough to see the city then take flight to Phu quoc then stay there 2 nights more(up to how you like this destination), then flight back to Ho chi minh to take flight to Singapore coz there is no direct flight from Phu Quoc to Ho Chi Minh.

Have fun!

Hi all,

Really appreciate your input.

Firstly flying Singapore Airlines as transferring Am/Ex points, they have a good redemption rate & if you book online you get a further 15% off.

Rohan... plan to visit in August this year, not planning on having too many destinations & Phu Quoc is number one at the moment.

Would be happy to fly to Ho Chi Minh as no extra points with Singapore air.

Then on to Phu Quoc.

Will probably spend few nights in Singapore on way back.

Have not been there for quite a few years...have visited Thailand/Maylasia & Cambodia in recent years .

Cheers Jules :-)

We just returned to New Zealand from 7 nights in Phu Quoc, it is a fantastic place and we loved our time there. For us we had 10 hours flying to Singapore, overnighted there then 2 hour flight to HCM for 2 nights then 50 min flight on Vietnam Airlines to Phu Quoc for 7 nights, we enjoyed a little bit of the big city before our beachfront holiday.

No international flights to Phu Quoc at present.

The beachesd on island is what we were after, and they were great coupled with the daily 30 degree temp. In June there is usually some wind, the breeze for us was welcome but the water is not always dead flat, as capable swimmers we did not find that a problem, it actuially keeps tourists away which was nice for us.

This is a great place, hire a scooter to help get around, there will be many more flights once the new airport opens early 2013?
