Hi! My family and I are traveling to Cape May for a weekend in December. Our girls are 7.5 and 9. What are the best events/tours/restaurants for that age? Thanks!
This is actually up in Cape May Courthouse→ The Cape May zoo https://www.cmczoo.com/ It's free with donations gladly accepted. Be sure to check the hours as they're abbreviated this time of year. And maybe a lighthouse climb will tucker them out https:/…cape-may-lighthouse
I don't know if the Lobster House has a young'uns menu, but they are yummy! http://thelobsterhouse.com/ And I did not expect this because it's off~season. BUT. It looks like Menzs is still open weekends http://www.menzrestaurant.com/ I highly suggest to call them in advance. And their young'ums menu has thingys like toys and/or $X worth of shopping in their candy store. + they have a candy store. BTW, the toys are more outside type toys so maybe not the bestest in December, but maybe a frisbee could be played with on a warmer December day
There are Christmas themed trolley rides in the evenings and also Breakfast With Santa in a few of the restaurants. I'm not sure if your girls would be too old for that, though. Also, take them to the Gallery in the Carriage House at the Physick Estate, there is a Christmas display of old fashioned toys and ceramic houses. Good gift shop there, too. There are a few Christmas-themed plays/musicals as well. Check out the East Lynne Theater Company.
