I'd vote NYNY... younger crowd for sure. There are some fun bars! Yea, go NYNY

Just for the record, I do like Flamingo (old school Vegas)!

Closer to center strip = Flamingo

Price = Flamingo

Younger Crowd = NYNY

Room Quality = NYNY

Gambling = NYNY

Restaurants = NYNY

Bars = NYNY

Not having to listen to a roller coaster = Flamingo

Pool (if that time of year) = Flamingo

Location is a matter of preference, of course, but ask a group of people and more will say Flamingo is better located than will say NYNY.

If your only other criteria is which attracts a younger crowd then I would agree with VegasPartyStops that it is NYNY.

If you have or want other things to be taking into account let us know.

NYNY is the better all around hotel except for its pool and its location, The Flam is a lower end hotel. NYNY is a better casino and more going on.

Rooms can be small at NYNY unless you up-grade, rooms can be worn and torn at FLam unless you get a new room.

Guess we're going on more than location and demographics then ;)

Location, location, location, Flamingo is dead center on the strip. NYNY is much further south.

Flamingo all the way!

I don't really like Flamingo much because some of the rooms are sooooo worn, and the carpet in certain parts of the hotel is so stained, but you can't beat the location! NY, NY is pretty far away from the places I usually like to be. If location is your primary concern, I think Flamingo would be the best choice. If you get a really bad room, go back down and tell the desk you just can't handle it. They will move you if they can. They are remodeling some of the rooms now. They called them FAB, think. I haven't stayed in one, but a newly remodeled room is usually pretty nice. Have fun!

yea...we got the new fab rooms so in really not concerned with the room condition. i love the location being able to walk out to bill's and o'sheas for some cheap drinks and some good times. i am just hoping that my home base hotel being the flamingo isnt totally old and boring compared to nyny.

I tried to love NYNY - I really did. I enjoyed the atmosphere so much prior to them doing the remodel a few years back. The former NY city atmosphere was so much more pleasant to me.

However, the last couple of trips I just gave up on NYNY. Drink service was awful one of the last times I was there & the waitress actually stood there & argued with me that I had moved to a new machine so she had to throw away my drink (had never moved). I considered that VERY poor customer treatment. She didn't want to even bring me a new drink. I have had to wait a few times at F (especially at shift change) but have never been treated rudely. The restaurant (?America) food was pretty average - not anything exciting.

Rooms at F if you are getting a newer one should be of no problem to you at all. The carpets are supposed to be replaced in the halls with the remodel also. (They were not industrial grade- that's why they deteriorated so bad).

If I liked some of the other nearby casinos/hotels a bit better I might try to give NYNY a bit more love again, but don't really enjoy any of them.

F probably has one of the wider age ranges I have seen. Evenings in the front are a LOT of young people up near the dancers at the tables. It really has a wide variety in it's clientele.

DiceMan will always put down the F from what I have read, but it is a good overall hotel with lots of food options in a great location. And now that the old rooms are going away, even better. Reserving any judgement on the Linq project until it is actually done, as I'm not sure if it will be beneficial or just another 'shopping' pit like City Center mall (only cheaper).

Flamingo for location. Close to Monorail for easy transportation. Flamingo looks good. NyNy looking noisy a little too rustic most recently.
