Where to Stay for Non-Gamblers?

I know it seems weird to consider Vegas when we do not gamble or cannot stand cigarette smoke...but the air fare is most affordable.

Where would be a good hotel/resort/area to stay in the vicinity - but more laid back and not SO gambley. LOL.

My husband and I are sans kids for 5 whole days in Sept. We want to take a vacation but we cannot spend more than 800ish. I would LOVE to lay on a beach with palm trees that whole time and would do it in a second, but air fare is so expensive right now. SO, this leaves us with little options.

With only 5 days, I am looking for a destination which is relaxing, good food, some city life but nothing TOO crazy, comfy hotels, maybe a comedy show??...

Any thoughts???

Look into Vdara, the M Resort, Signature, Platinum. They're all great properties to consider.

Your budget lets out most of the properties I'd recommend on the strip but Platinum offstrip might work for you. Also, although not a non-smoking hotel, Red Rock in Summerlin might also work within your budget but a nice place, and with some activities at the Red Rock Canyon Conservation area nearby that aren't casino related.

mandalay bay for the pools. I would look into cancun as a vacation choice first though. If you don't like gambling or smoke...you probably won't like las Vegas for five days. What about a carnival cruise?

The new Ravella Hotel in Lake Las Vegas (formerly the Ritz Carlton) has some insanely low rates right now. I happened to notice on Expedia the rate in August (for the dates I was searching awhile ago) was $56 per night! I believe they also offer a shuttle to the Strip for nightlife, etc.
