Non-gamblers, 2 nights in Vegas Wynn or Trump Int'l?

Husband and I are staying two nights in Vegas. We are non-gamblers, non-smokers. Would really like to stay at the Mandarin Oriental, but way out of our budget-$621. The Trump International is $349 and the Wynn LV is currently $419. Torn between which to book. Would love to hear thoughts from those who can compare. Spotless accommodations, comfy beds/pillows, excellent customer service from staff, free-wifi are our requests.

Thanks!

I like the one named after the guy who is famous for his conservative politics and his harassment of women. But I hear the Trump is nice too.

Kidding. Wynn has much more to see and do, even aside from gambling.

If it’s this month July , the Trump international isn’t on the strip, it is off the strip . Very nice hotel. As for Wynn , this one is on the strip also very nice hotel.

You might want to check out Encore which near the Wynn hotel, this one is own by the Wynn. Also check out Palazzo hotel also on the strip. I would check out www.vegas.com for hotel room, they have good prices for your budget. Enjoy!

You might add the Four Seasons to your list.

With those choices, I would book Wynn or Encore.

If you want to get that price down on Trump International, do a "name your own price" bid on Priceline and bid for 5* properties. Trump is not 5*, but Priceline says they are. Start bidding low for 5* properties only on the Strip. Usually, you will get Trump. I have gotten Trump as low as $70 (before resort fees and taxes) in the past. Remember, if you do this you are locked in and it is non-refundable.

Trump is off the strip. You definitely want to be on the strip! Wynn is at the end of the strip. Is there a reason you aren't considering Cosmopolitan Bellagio or Aria? All great properties and mid-strip.

Trump International has free shuttles to Wynn and Caesars. It is next to the Fashion Show Mall.

My question is the reason for your trip...if it is leisure, do you have a couple restaurants you want to visit? Or are there a couple shows you want to see? That makes a difference on the suggestions we can offer to you. I agree with others that the Trump doesn't sit on the Las Vegas Blvd (The Strip), but it is a beautiful property. If you don't have a set schedule to meet, then I would not rule out that property! If you want to wander the strip, Caeser's hasn't been mentioned. The Nobu Hotel may have comparable rates for your dates of travel. I also agree with the 4 Seasons suggestion. And the Wynn is also a beautiful property.

Gary's tip in #6 is very helpful. You can also usually find Trump on Priceline under the "Express Deals." Look for the Strip-Northwest Strip hotel that is listed as "5 Star Hotel" rather than "5 Star Casino Hotel."

I checked for some random dates next week, and Trump was listed at $97 under Express Deals vs. $150 on regular Priceline vs. $168 direct on the Trump website. None of the prices I mentioned include resort fees, taxes, etc. This may or may not be the case for your dates.

You can also book your Priceline room through the link on Retailmenot.com and get $5 in cash back after your stay. :)

The Wynn is a far superior property. Unless the slot machines and table games somehow gain the ability to use mind control on you to draw you in, stuff a cigarette in your mouth and gamble away your life savings, there is far, far more to do at a casino resort than a hotel like Trump.

The rooms at Wynn are better designed with nicer bathrooms. There are more dining options on-site. Shopping, a better pool, and a better location, unless you absolutely need to be across the street from Nordstrom.
