I read someplace on the Internet that Harrah's requested a permit to dismantle their Tunica Casino. Their three hotels will remain standing for now. No buyers found for the casino and they think it is easier to sell the hotels separately. Don't understand this reasoning. Can anyone verify this is true? Also, Sam's Town has closecd the upper floor of their Casino? Thanks.

It's my understanding that there will be a hearing on March 25th in a Chicago Court concerning the property.

The last few times we have been to Sams (most recently in January), the second floor of the casino was limited to slot machines for tournaments only. That has been like that for at least the last two or three years, at least when we visited.

The Tunica casinos themselves are on big barges. I don't think dismantling it will be that big of a deal. However, I don't think anyone will every buy those hotels. Business in Tunica is way down and has been since 2011. Sam's bought that hotel next to them when Isle of Capri moved down the river, used it for a bit for overflow, but now it stands unused.

The sooner the barge is gone the better. Harrah;s avoids the upkeep on a non profit earning asset.

Feel sorry about the decline of Tunica had a lot of fun playing at Sam's Club and the other properties.
