Tunia trip 7/30-8/2

We did a charter from Cleveland. We had a comped premium king at the horseshoe. We gambled at Gold Strike, Horseshoe. Road house and walked on the short cut to Ballys. All the casinos gave food comps for the asking. Gold Strike had the nicest slot floor. We enjoyed our room at Horseshoe and did not experience any of the negative things reported in the reviews on this site. You are trapped at these casinos unless you have your own transportation.

We did not win a lot, but were offered Buffets at the table at Gold Strike. VIP services at Horseshoe gave us $50 at Noodles, and VIP services at roadhouse comped $50 at dinner. We ate Breakfast every day at JB's at Horseshoe. The portions at all these places were large. Food was great in general. It reminds me of old Vegas.

Thanks for sharing. Sounds like you had a good trip and did okay considering all the comps. Its fairly easy to earn comps in Tunica compared to Vegas.

Its very helpful to have a car in Tunica. As you've found out, there's no way to get around without it.

We are thinking about a 3/4 day stay in Tunica, however,we have read that,it's dying on it's feet? Can anyone advise us on what to expect? If we go it will be Monday-Friday mid March!

M -F in mid March may be somewhat busy because of spring break trips. For example, the biggest public school system here in Memphis is out March 16 - 20. That said, business is way down in Tunica compared to what it was even a few years ago. They have never completely recovered business lost during the 2011 flood. Harrah's closed in recent months and there have been layoffs at other casinos. However, some of them remodeled and really courted Harrahs former customers, trying to get additional business.
