Area beaches ??

We are staying on Mackinac Island for two nights, the day we come off the island we would like to spend a half day at a beach before driving back down state. Have been to the Charlevoix/Petoskey area many times so looking for something different (below the bridge). Either Lake Huron or Michigan is fine, would like a nice beach with bathroom facilities. Thanks for any tips.

Wilderness State Park, West of Mackinaw City.

You can drive down M-119 through the tunnel of trees to Harbor Springs after ...

Stop at Legs Inn in Cross Village for lunch, or just to look around.

There is also the city beach (Zorn Park) on W. Bay St. in Harbor Springs too (if you want a beach closer to civilization).

There are miles of nice beach along US-2 going west from St. Ignace.

I think the coolest beach in the area is along Sturgeon Bay, south of Wilderness State Park. The Bliss Township Park has a nice beach & dunes and is not crowded..
