Yet Another Henry Ford Museum Question

We will have only one day to visit the museum coming in from the Windsor Ontario casino on a Saturday morning.. I was looking into the combo ticket.. Museum, Factory Tour and Greenfield Village... it looks a little ambitious. I have a few questions.. Is there a way to check if the factory is operating during the times we would be visiting.. I'd be most inclined to deleted the Ford Rouge from our trip plan.. but my husband is very interested in factory tours and it seems that this is such an important piece of the Ford legacy... Can food or drinks or snacks be brought to the park to save time allotted for eating? I was a bit concerned that while demonstrations or reenactments were occurring in Greenfield Village that the shops/laboratories artifacts would not be able to be seen.. because of the serious time constraints I don't believe we would have time for these. Would you advise prepurchasing tickets? Any parking suggestions? We are planning to there as soon as the museum opens and stay until closing time.. Should we come earlier ..long queuing lines? This will be the first weekend of August. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

if you pre-purchase tickets you can go right in at opening. Parking is free right across from both entrances to the museum and the village. We have always brought our own food in the village and sat on the grass eating picnic style.

I cannot imagine doing the Rouge tour and the museum & village in one day. It takes us more than one day to see the entire museum. Our favorites in the museum is the industry, Rosa Parks bus, special exhibits and seeing Kennedy's car. In the village they have rides in the old cars, and the train depot is pretty neat! Take the train to the back and walk forward. They have kids games in the field across from the Menlow Park lab. The items to make sure to see in the village are the: Train Depot, Menlow Park lab & Wright Bros shop. Everything is terrific but it looks like you need to abbreviate your visit. Nothing is closed during reenactments, or any other shows going on.

Parking is $6 unless you are a member or buying tickets for the Giant Screen Experience (formerly the IMAX theater). https:/…
