Where to stay in Williamstown for college weekend?

I will be going to Williamstown for a parent's weekend and am confused on where to stay. Although it's not until late Oct. seems like the best rated places are booked. Any suggestions on nearby accommodations? I'm from Texas and have no clue what is considered close by.

Unfortunately, fall is one of the busiest times of the year in the Berkshire because that is peak foliage time. You could see if The Porches in North Adams is available

Also, The Four Chimneys in Bennington VT 15 miles north of Williamstown

Wyndham Bentley Brook in Hancock, MA about 15 miles south

There are other places in Hancock as well. Good luck!

I stayed at the Willows Motel the last time I was in that area (a couple years ago).

It is a very basic place, but was clean, cheap, had a pool, and close to the college.

It could also be that many places have a minimum stay requirement during peak season. If you're looking for just a night or two, try increasing your stay length and see if that shows more availability. Then you'll know whether that's your problem.

Yes, you can stay at Topia Inn. We were chosen one of the top 10 B&B's in New England. We are an organic inn with 10 artist decorated rooms, 15-20 minutes from Williams College in the town of Adams at the base of Mt Greylock. www.topiainn.com.

Nana, may be frustrating but not allowed to self promote.

As for places to stay. This is a very popular weekend. Grab the best closest available place you can. If you can make a cancelable reservation, do so and then ask.

I will be looking at Williams College Friday afternoon next week for a college tour and will be heading to Amherst College the following Monday. Most of lodging options are booked in Wiliamstown for Friday evening. I was hoping to find a nice spot between the two colleges to spend the weekend? Thanks in advance.

What's your budget and what kind of bedding do you need?

We stayed at the Holiday Inn in North Adams last summer and were pleasantly surprised by how nice it was
