Fall Colors peak in Hancock this year

When will the Fall Colors peak in Hancock this year? We plan to do it together with our New York City trip. How far do we have to drive from NY city to Hancock and how long will it take? Please advise. Thank you.

It should take you about three hours to drive from New York City to Hancock, Massachusetts. Not one can tell exactly when leaves will turn in a particular area of the intensity of the color. It can vary from year to year depending upon the weather, but in general the first week of October should be a good time. If you time things right you won't have to go nearly as far as Hancock. Connecticut gets color, too, although a bit later (see Howland's map)
