Boat Rentals

We're looking to rent a small (6 person) boat (row or small motor) for our vacation next year. Are there any places near Rock Hall that we can check into?

reading this and your other posts, I am curious if you know what Rock Hall is like--perhaps you have no other options due to family commitments, but it sounds like you want activity and there isn't very much of that in Rock Hall unless you charter fishing boats. Rock Hall is beautiful - don't get me wrong, but it's a long way from anywhere by road. It originated as a fishermans town for a reason. Now there are lovely B&Bs and a quaint town with some tourist-oriented offerings, but not much. Peace and Quiet - definitely. Golf Courses, not so much. Boat rentals are pretty much non-existant. You can rent boats on the other side of the Bay Bridge at Sandy Point State Park, but I think they only rent by the day or half day - you wouldn't be able to rent one for a week and dock it in Rock Hall. Not many places on the Bay will rent motorized boats -- probably an insurance issue. Can we offer other suggestions for places to stay? You'll find better golf and diversions in Talbot County - St. Michaels and Easton --and also further east in and around Ocean City.

Thanks so much to both of you for all the info. I will definitely look into all of it.

We actually chose Rock Hall BECAUSE of the "away-from-it-all" location. We're going for 8 days, so taking day trips to busier, more touristy locations here and there are definitely options we will explore. There are days, though, that we would enjoy the peacefulness of staying local. Thats why we were looking to rent a boat (nothing big-a basic 6 person aluminum) to do a little fishing and just enjoy being on the water.

Sounds great, and Rock Hall will certainly be the perfect place for your get-away.
