Fall foliage report for October 21, 2017

The colors in the mid coast of Maine are very lively and strong. We did a 7 mile hike up to the top of Camden State Park and the view of the ocean alongside beautiful red, orange and yellow leaves was incredible. If you think it is too late, you are wrong. We are going to Acadia tomorrow. Some people who returned today from a visit claimed they were still enjoying vibrant colors.

We were up to Evans Notch and then further north to Grafton Notch today on the west side of Maine. Fantastic colors at Evans Notch, and pretty much all the way up from Portland. There were also great colors around Bethel and Sunday River.

By the time we got up to Grafton Notch colors were well past their peak. We had planned to go up to Height of Land, but decided to head back to Portland from Andover.
