Camden Current Foliage Report Oct 11-16, 2017

We are in Camden Oct 11-16, 2017. Any recent fall foliage reports, scenic drives, current color conditions? Thank you

Head up to Mt. Battie this afternoon.

Tomorrow, maybe drive out Route 105 past Hope, right on Route 131, left onto 173 /220 up to Liberty. Left on 3 past Lake St George to Lori's Café for lunch and John's Ice Cream for dessert. Return maybe down route 220 to Washington and then 17 east to Rockport.

If you want a full day's trip then drive to Augusta and the Maine State Museum. Maybe outbound on route 17 to Augusta and returning via Route 3. After Lake St George turn right off route 3 to 173 then right on 131 through Appleton and Union then 17 back to Rockport Camden.

On another day drive down to Owl's Head Lighthouse, then take 73 down through South Thomaston to St George. Left on 131 at St George and head to the Marshall Point Lighthouse.

A drive up Route 1 to the Penobscot Observatory would be nice too, stop in downtown Belfast for lunch or at Angler's in Searsport. Moose Point State Park is on the way, too.

If you're there on a Sunday, go to the Camden Snow Bowl for a pancake breakfast from 8:30-10:30 (cost is by donation to the Ragged Mountain Ski Club), then ride the chairlift up to the top ($5 for kids, $10 adults) for fabulous views of the leaves and Camden Harbor. https:/…
