Fogo de Chao or Brazza's

Going to Chicago July 5-10 with my husband (first time). He's willing to try a Brazilian steakhouse. Which one would you recommend?

We're staying at the Sax Hotel.

Texas de Brazil is opening a location at 51 E. Ohio. I have enjoyed their restaurants in Schaumburg and Memphis. Personally, I like them better than Fogo de Chao. I have not yet been to Brazzai.

I've eaten at both and each is excellent. You really can't go wrong. That said, Fogo has these little cheese puff pastry type rolls that are killer.

Fogo's little cheese puff pastry type rolls really sound yummy!

Is that restaurant far from the Sax hotel?

By metra, bus or else?

Walk north on Dearborn to Erie. Hang a left. Take Erie to LaSalle. It's about a 10 minute walk.

I vote for Fogo as well...I think the sides (cheese puffs and potatoes and incredible grilled polenta) are better. Fantastic caprihinas (sp?) too.

That being said, Brazzaz is a bit closer (maybe four or five blocks away from Sax, Fogo is about three blocks farther than Brazzaz). But both are walkable or a cheap cab ride.

Go for lunch and you get practically the same menu for $30 instead of $50.

In addition to the other items folks have mentioned, I think Fogo's salad bar is a little better.

While I have not been to any of these restaurants.

I hear Zed (another Brazilian steakhouse) has a really nice roof topdeck

Many thanks to all of you for the info and special thanks to ChristyC for the tip about lunch ($).

And I'll make sure to walk to get there and to come back - to burn a few calories at least!

You should look into Zed451. While not strictly a Brazilian Steakhouse, it is the same idea with the many different types of meat served at the tables.
