walk to Rays game

Hello, my husband & I are staying at the Hollander in May. Is it possible and safe to walk to a Rays 7pm game, if we were to plan to get to that area a couple of hours before the game? (we enjoy walking) It seems to be 1.5 miles, maybe 30 minute walk per Google maps. And, are there places/bars etc in that area for pre-game snacks & drinks?

We will take public transit/Uber after the game.

If you are really determined it's possible. The Hollander also has a shuttle, although it wasn't reliable for us after the game--ended up taking a cab back to the hotel. By the way, the bar/restaurant at the hotel is reasonable and not bad---We live here and occasionally eat there. Having said that, check out Beach Drive and Central Avenue.

Ferg's is the most popular bar for before and after a game at Tropicana Field.

Thank you. Ferg's seems like the perfect place for us pregame. I'll definitely find out about Hollander's shuttle service around the area. And the Hollander pool bar was a major draw for us to stay there while in St Pete for the week.
