Where to stay?

K & I, a young and active 50+ couple, will be flying into St Pete/ Clearwater airport in April to spend a few days(Sun-Sat) away from the WNY winter. We would like to spend our time at a beachfront location, that is within walking distance, 15-20 minutes is no problem, to top restaurants and attractions, as well as being Über friendly to and from the airport and any nearby attractions. My first question is, which area is best for us- Madeira Beach, St. Pete Beach, Clearwater Beach, some other? Second, which hotel, condo or complex do you recommend? We would like at least an updated 1 bedroom place with a nice pool area up to $200/night. We would prefer not to be right in the heart of the area. Thanks for your help!

Indian Rocks Beach is a very nice, walkable town with many rentals. The beach itself is nice enough and there are spectacular public beaches to the north.

April is peak travel season, rates will be at their highest until May, especially if your travel dates are around Easter week. It may be difficult to stay within your budget for an updated one bedroom. Try Liberte Management Company. They represent condos along the beaches.

Since your budgeted amount may be low for the time period, here is another place to check

In St. Pete Beach.

Units are individually owned so may or may not be updated.

In general there are not many attractions along the beaches, other than the beach, restaurants & shops. There is a beach trolley available, google, PSTA Beach Trolley.
