Hotels in walking distance to Disney?

Are there any hotel withing walking distance to Disney so we could then use the on site transport? Having a look at costs for on site and wondering if we could get somewhere slightly off site without the added cost of having to have use uber or hire cars

No. Only a few hotels in walking distance to parks. They are all "on property" Disney hotels. If you want to walk to the Magic kingdom the Contemporary resort Hotel is your only option. BUt it is a Disney property. You would have to take the buses to the other three parks... well no actually you could take two monorails to EPCOT as well... buses to the other two. Off property you need to supply your own transportation no exceptions.

There is no hotel within walking distance of Disney. I'm afraid you don't realize how huge WDW is. It has the same surface area as the city of San Francisco.

I suppose you could book a hotel near Disney Springs and walk to there then jump on a Disney bus to the parks. But that is a good hike.

I'd look at the Disney Springs hotels and the Swan & Dolphin.

You can stay just over from Disney springs and walk over just remember transport from springs to resorts does not start until later. You can walk thru to Saratoga springs hotel and use park transport from there. It is a hike.

Or pick one of the lbv hotels that does shuttle

If you want a not-Disney hotel with good, easy, free access to Disney's attractions then the Disney Springs Area Hotels (see http://disneyspringshotels.com ) are the immediate choice. Whilst they ARE in walking Disnance of the nearest point in Disney (Disney Springs - hence the name) they ALSO have their own dedicated free shuttle system which runs directly to WDW attractions every 30 minutes or so, so you'd use that, right from your hotel door, right to where you are going.

To clarify, buses at Disney Springs do not go to theme parks; only Disney resorts. Plan accordingly.

Happy planning!

Disney Springs hotels are a great choice;they have their own bus system scheduled every 30 minutes to the park. You get much more value for your money(no magic though which Disney hotels charge a large premium for). No LBV hotels has more than a few shuttles in the AM and PM.Since we often eat a Disney resort hotel,if we aren't driving,we return to DS on a Disney resort bus. Its not much of a walk;even Doubletree(the most distant DS hotel) is less than a mile and there are sidewalks. If that's too much of a hike for you,the parks will totally kill you . There are no non Disney hotels that you can walk to the parks from except for the Swan and Dolphin, both excellent non Disney hotels

Please make sure you are very clear (if you book an offsite hotel) on shuttle times... I was in another group where someone booked with a hotel not up front about their shuttle times and it caused her quite a bit of concern and hassle. She ended up switching to an onsite Disney resort.

Staying onsite might be more $$, but to me it's 110% worth the convenience, esp. if it's a trip solely to Disney. If you plan to visit other places, you could consider staying offsite.
