Drought caused illness

There is a rumor circulating that the drought in Orlando has led to spore contamination in groundwater that is making people ill. We will be vacationing there. Is this true?

No word on Forum so far, plus I follow a couple on youtube, who stay just outside Orlando and no mention on there.

Sons over in Orlando working he hasn't mentioned this. Where did you hear it. I know there's a heatwave but didn't hear of drought.

We're just back - plenty of rain most afternoons as is usual at this time of the year. We didn't hear or see anything on the news about a drought.

In some areas of the state, there has been a drought with little rain. But of all the things I worry about in planning a vacation, spore contamination has never occurred to me. Ever

If there is a drought, why have I seen rain nearly every day this week?

I had tap water in my coffee this morning, and I am not dead yet.

Where in the hell did you hear that? Wait a minute, I guess on the internet LOL.

Because you live in a part of Florida where it is raining . Do you think what happens to you is everyone's experience?Melbourne,Palm Bay and much of the Space Coast has had very little rain-they had some yesterday but not much the prior week. You see,its a different place than Orlando.

Well given that the OP says "drought in Orlando" I think it's safe to say they aren't concerned about if the space coast has had rain.

And here is a map that was updated July 19th that shows no drought in the state except a small dry spot way up in the northern section.

…unl.edu/Home/StateDroughtMonitor.aspx…

And another with slight variations again showing no drought in Central Florida

https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/sotc/drought/201606

I agree with surffish, we have had typical rain patterns the last month or so.

Great, Thanks for all your information. The information came from a rather unreliable source (sister in law) but my wife insisted that I investigate. Now I can tell my wife that her sister was wrong again for the fiftieth time. (She probably got it from the Nation... Enqui...).
