Weather in orlando in September?

I am thinking of taking my 2.5 yr old boy and husband to orlando the first 2 weeks in september, can anyone let me know what the weather is like, is there alot of rain or just occasional? I have taken my son to euro disney twice and he loved it, was a bit worried that he might be too young for orlando, some advice from mothers of toddlers would be appreciated?

Hi initialabcd,

Welcome to the forum!, it's always nice to see a fellow Scot here, although I live in London now :o(

My partner and I always go in September, and this year we are going from September 7th-28th.

The weather is hot hot hot, and very very humid!!!.

You'll find there will be thunderstorms everyday, especially in the afternoon/late evening!.

However, don't let this put you off!.

It very rarely lasts too long and helps cool the place down a bit.

Aside from that, September is a great time to go as the crowds are low!.

Your 2.5yr old definitely isn't too young, there are loads of gret things for him to do.

If you haven't found this website already, have a look, it will tell you everything you need to know about Disney!.

Happy planning and if you need any questions asked, don't hesitate to ask!.

Ps, not sure what part of Scotland you're from, but as a Glaswegian, I really miss a King Rib supper!. Very unhealthy I know!!!!

Thanks guys for such a detailed and speedy response. We live in Glasgow, great place to live. Ok, will go on websites recommended. The only disadvantage being in Glasgow is the limited direct flights!

King Ribs now again is absolutely fine :). Thanks.

Last year in September, we had some afternoons/evenings with storms like I've never seen before. Hopefully, that was flukey, but it does seem to rain for a short time every afternoon/evening somewhere in the area.

Otherwise, it's very hot, humid, and muggy. Also, you have the love bugs to deal with, but there's no way to predict if they will be "swarming" during your visit or not.

I remember those storms Kat - one even went well through our night at MNSSHP. At that time of year, expect the storms in the afternoon/evening, but normally they just come and go.

September is my favourite time to go - love watching the storms and love the low crowds.

September 10 is the peak of the Atlantic Hurricane season, so they'll most likely be something brewing in the Atlantic or Gulf when you're here.

oh am having second thoughts in going in sept as i don't want to be caught in a hurricane. ok will going in the last week of sept for 2 weeks better than the first 2 weeks of sept? but then the rain won't spoil your holiday ,will it?

The hurricanes can come into Florida typically anytime between August 1st and November 1st (usually not before then). Don't let that worry you, as there's no way to know.

Last two weeks of September are no better for rain than are the first two weeks. As long as the temps and humidity are very high, the rains will come each day...it's a tropical climate and it's just the way it is.

Honestly, being a veteran of going to Orlando in September, I'm more bothered by the heat and humidity than I am the rain and threat of hurricanes.
