Key West in March with husband and 17 year old

We are celebrating our 50th birthdays and will be in KW for 5 full days. Looking for your suggestions on things not to be missed that our almost 17 y/o can do with us. He is an excellent travel companion. 3 years ago, I drug him around Europe for 5 weeks.

Would like a mixture of activity and rest. We enjoy history (ie Hemingway's house and summer White house), live music, sunsets, local culture and the occasional cocktail:)

TIA

Take the trolley tour, go to the Butterfly Conservatory. See Dominiques sunset cat show at least once. He is a hoot!

We had our daughter at more then one live music show when she use to go with us. It was always an early showing though. I remeber her sitting watching the singer at the Bull and the Whistle. The island is loaded with history try Mel Fishers museum and the Ship Wreckers mueseum. Be sure to walk along the bight and enjoy happy hour while you are there too.

We travel with our teen son (almost 16 now) and depending on how active you are, we enjoyed parasailing and the jet ski tour in addition to all the things mentioned above. Sunset celebration for sure, maybe a kayak tour (we're doing that for the 1st time this year). We enjoy a sunset sail one night as well. My son also likes just chilling at the beach (we like Ft. Zach, it's close to where we stay in Truman Annex) and walking Duval going in all the shops. We will be there late March (24th-31st).

I second the suggestions of Sunset Celebration at Mallory Square and renting bikes and cruising the island.

Consider catching some music at Schooner Wharf Bar (and restaurant). Maybe Raven Cooper on Mondays noon - 5pm.

Turtle races at Turtle Kraals. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 7pm. Get there a little early, grab a drink and they will give you a number. If your turtle number wins, you have a chance for some free prizes. Unique and fun.
