What (not?) to wear?!?!

Headed out to FMB in less than 2 weeks! We've never been, so I'm wondering if people dress causal or not so casual at night and/or in your nicer bars and restaurants?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

What not to wear if you're a man:

speedos

spandex shorts

Borat style swimwear

I think you get the picture

Just my 0.01. I'll refrain on giving advice on the ladies' what not to wear list....

flat shoes, shorts, tshirts. You might want to bring one nicer outfit if you go out for a nice dinner, but capris are pretty much dressy on the beach.

Extremely casual! I always (and still do) overpack....bringing nicer tops and capri's and shoes and never ever wear any of it....lol...I end up spending alot of time in bathing suites and the most comfortable casual clothes I bring and flip flops. It really is a very beachy comfortable place to be. I have seen many in bathing suites with a coverup or a little sundress over the bathing suite at times square, publix and even eating at some restaurants.

Hope this helps.

I always overpack. I just returned today (sigh) from two weeks in ft myers and Sanibel and as usual could have done with half the stuff I packed. I always say I'm going to cut my list in half because "you never know". but trust me....casual, casual, casual. If you are lucky enough to be staying at a place with a washer and dryer, even more so. Enjoy!!!

I do the same thing "overpack". It is always good to have a light jacket or sweat shirt during the winter months.

I noticed when I got to FMB that EVERYBODY was wearing a 2 piece bathing suit. Being a little modest I didn't wear one, but next year I will!
