Marriott or Pelican Grand, Fort Lauderdale.

Hello, my husband and I are planning 4 nights in Fort Lauderdale from 24th November and I would like some further information regarding the above hotels please and have some other questions.

Approximate cost and distance with Uber from Miami airport on arrival and is Uber the cheapest option?

Approximate cost and distance with Uber to Fort Lauderdale Airport and Sawgrass Mills from either hotel.

Any ideas about alcoholic beverage prices at either hotel.

Has either hotel got an informal restaurant that is also less expensive than their top restaurants which from other guest reviews seem to be very pricey. Any price indications of lunch/dinner etc would be really helpful. Am not trying to be mean or penny pinching but our exchange rate is dreadful and I'm simply trying to plan ahead as haven't been to the area for 11 years and know things will have changed since then.

Should we arrive and be too exhausted to move for a couple of days, which hotel/beach/pool would you rather be at?

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this post. Please feel free to offer any further information or advice that you feel will help me to decide between the two hotels or enhance our trip.

Which Marriot ? Use the app or uber-rates-miami.uber-fare-estimator.com/

Lyft seams to offer more discounts.

Keep in mind you;ll be traveling over a major holiday weekend here in the colonies, allow some extra time to navigate the airport and Id honestly rethink going anywhere near Sawgrass Mills that weekend.

It is the Marriott Beach Towers, Fort Lauderdale that I wish to compare with.

Thank you for the information about Lyft and Uber.

Do you imagine that Sawgrass Mills would be hellish on Monday 27th too, might the crowds have disappeared by then?

Thank you for your time.

Monday wont be nearly as bad as Friday to Sunday, though Im betting it will still be busier than normal.

I'd go with the Pelican Grand over the Marriott Beach Towers.

I would not Uber to Sawgrass but rent a car for the day.

Next door to the Pelican is the Sun Tower, which has a nice open air bar called the Sand Bar. I have never eaten there only stayed for a drink but the menu looked quite reasonably priced and food looked nice. Personally without a car I wouldn't choose it because there's little close by as regards restaurants and bars. I would take the Marriott Beach place of the list, the Beach Place is a tourist trap, it has reasonably priced restaurants but I wouldn't eat there. However Hooters, Lulu's Bait Shack and Fat tuesdays seem to appeal to many. I'm sure you won't be too exhausted to move for 2 days. We are in our 60's will arrive into MIA drive to Fort Lauderdale and be in a bar the same night until about 2am up by 9am the next day and in Starbucks by 9.30am. I think you should do a bit more research before you choose either.
