Surfing Santas

Our family will be in Cocoa Beach over the Christmas holidays. Just wondering where we can see the surfing santas? Will parking be an issue? Is it best to park farther away and walk? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Right around Coconuts. It is still fun, but it has gotten very, very busy over the last couple of years.

"Will parking be an issue?"

YES!! Especially after sunrise. No, I am not joking.

Parking will be an issue, if you are staying at one of the beach side hotels it would be easier to walk. Surfing Santas will be held at the end of Minuteman Causeway. It is always fun to watch. The event begins at 8:00am and the santas start at approximately at 10:00am. Have fun!

See https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g34145… .

As stated, parking will be at a premium. The last time I was there, the free and inexpensive parking nearby was all taken well before 9, but there were a few places charging $10-20 for a space. I parked in a church lot a block south of Minuteman Causeway, about 2-3 blocks from the event.

You can park away from downtown. If the walk will be too far, you can use the #9 bus, which runs up and down Atlantic Avenue (A1). Because the event will be on a Sunday, the buses run on a limited schedule from about 8 a.m. until about 5 p.m., only once an hour. See www.321transit.com for the route and schedule.

Taxi and Uber services are also available in Cocoa Beach.

The Surfing Santas will be at the east end of Minutemen Causeway in the heart of downtown Cocoa Beach. As others have already answered, parking will likely be crowded. You can take a nice walk on the beach from either direction and get close enough to see all the Santas. Cocoa Beach Main Street, which is the area around Minutemen Causeway and A1A, has several restaurants, cafes and shops, too!

Surfline indicates a possibility of waves, small ones, on Christmas Day. In our part of the world, forecasts so far out aren't very useful.
