Rio Cucharas Inn

I am planning a family reunion in June. Has anyone stayed at the Rio Cucharas Inn outside of Walsenburg. Would this make a good spot for a reunion of 20 people?

I can only comment on the exterior appearance of the place, since I've never stayed there. It looks nice from the highway!

What sorts of things might your family group want to do during their reunion? This location is near Lathrop State Park, so if you like water sports or golfing, that would be a good spot to visit.

You're also about 45 minutes - 1 hour drive from Great Sand Dunes National Park, which offers lots of hiking possibilities.

The town of La Veta is quite beautiful, and a little walking tour of the town can be fun.

However, if your family members aren't really "outdoorsy" types (that is, if they really prefer "city" types of activities), this may not be the best part of the state to select for the reunion.

There is plenty to do there. Tennis, swimming, and playing pool. Near Lathrop State park, and near La Veta Ski Resort. There is also a resturant with good food and plenty of food.
