When my dad was a child Littleton was not a suburb of Denver but a distinct town in its own right (he distinctly remembered traveling between the two). The downtown area is a very old, really neat area without hotel chains or, it seems, even B&Bs. If you want a nice B&B with a mountain feel then you might try Morrison. There are lots of chain hotels on the east side of Littleton (look for the Denver Tech listings or look for Englewood) and look for the west side under Lakewood (south of Hampden).
