Winter Recs around Evergreen

Staying with my family in the middle of Feb near Evergreen and am just curious for winter activity recommendations in and around the area. Wondering about cross country skiing, which resorts are closest snow boarding, trails for snow shoeing?

Lots of trails for snowshoeing around Evergreen. Elk Meadow/Bergen Peak, 3 Sisters Aldifer, and the other Jefferson County Open Space parks probably the most popular. Beaver Brook Watershed just as nice and little more "wild" once you get out about a mile. Elk Meadow and and Beaver Brook both can be very good places to XC ski. Not sure where you'd get XC rentals if you need them - maybe Boone Mtn Sports??? The trails mentioned usually get packed down 1-2 days after snowfall and can be hiked without skis or snowshoes.

Loveland Ski area is the closest area to snowboard. It's about 40 min West on I70 depending on traffic. Winter Park probably second closest, and then the resorts in Summit County and Vail all within 1.5 to 1.75hrs.

Ice skating on the lake should be available when you visit. You can also rent fat bikes at Culture of Speed bike store for riding on the trails once the snow is packed.

Have fun and enjoy Evergreen.
