Torrance Farmer's Market

A great selection of vendors. Many different produce vendors are there with plenty of samples available. Want heirloom tomatoes or really great looking beefsteaks? Juicy peaches or nectarines?? Wild greens that you can't find anywhere. Fresh flowers for a price far better than Trader Joes and better quality?

Fast food vendors are also there. Want gourmet tamales? The Corn Maiden sells tamales ready to eat or you can buy them frozen like I do. The Peruvian food place is great. You can even buy fresh roasted peanuts (and enjoy peanuts fresher than at the ball park).

The parking, however, is horrendous. Plan to circle the lot a few times before you find a space. Either that, or arrive here before 9:00am on a Saturday. Tuesdays are less crowded.

Agree with the traffic comment-if you are NOT going to the market, avoid Crenshaw Blvd on Saturday morning, as it is gridlocked with people going to the market. Parking is a general problem in that area, because there are not too many neighborhoods with on street parking convenient to the market. It may be possible to park at the business park on the west side of Crenshaw (or the Marriott Courtyard, which is a bit farther)-we always walk there since we live close by, so I can't help much on parking options. Go early and eat your way through the market, then take a brisk walk at Wilson Park, which is adjacent to the market. There's also several nice picnic areas in the park if you want to sample your market acquisitions.
