Not sure where to stay.

Hi

3 adults staying Jan4 -Jan7

We've looked at Ocean view hotel , some say it's quite noisy. But it's on the beach which is good

Also looked at Double Tree Suites. It's back a bit and looked quite dated.

Any suggestions would be great

Brad

Ocean View Hotel is absolutely not on the beach, although it has beach views from the higher rooms. There are only a couple hotels that are on the beach, but even those are separated by a bike path and small alley - Casa del Mar, Le Merigot, Loews, Shutters. Hotel California and Sea View and Bayside are as close to the beach as you'll get at a lower budget.

Double Tree sits on a freeway, and across from the police station, but the rooms are suites.

What is your budget per night?

Our budget is around $400 USD a night.

Its our last nights of a 18 day trip.

Look at the Wyndham, the Shangri La and the Loews (might be a sale for that time of year).

What are your plans while here? January is far from beach weather (sometimes it's quite warm, but not predictable). You may want to stay in a more central location of Los Angeles, like Beverly Hills, then you'll enjoy shorter, much shorter drives or transit trips to most tourist activities.

At that budget, why limit yourself to those properties?

Loews is $405/night, Viceroy at $385/night, Fairmont Miramar is $424, Huntley Hotel is $390/night.

Hi Phaminator and TomMalley,

Which sites are you using to check prices I can only see upwards of $500 a night at these hotels?

I have currently booked an ocean view room at Ocean View Hotel but can cancel for free if needed.

Thanks. Brad
