Hikes within 30 minute drive of downtown Pasadena

Arriving early Friday afternoon for weekend football game. One option that afternoon is an hour plus hike. Any nice walks within a 30 minute drive of downtown?

Does it have to be a hike? There are hiking trails in the nearby mountains, and in the arroyo (meh, alongside a concrete ditch), but for just an hour or so before the game, I'd recommend walking around one of the beautiful neighborhoods in Pasadena. Are you interested in architecture? There is a great neighborhood just uphill from the Rose Bowl, and I could recommend a wonderful one hour walk around there, passing some really beautiful and historic homes.

Park near the Gamble House (4 Westmoreland Place, just behind Orange Grove Blvd). Walk all around the Gamble House, one of Greene and Greenes' masterpieces. Continue South on Westmoreland to the corner-- Arroyo Terrace. Walk in a loop around Arroyo Terrace, passing many beautiful homes, returning to Orange Grove. Now walk north on Orange Grove, passing Gamble House, cross Rosemont, and turn left at Prospect Blvd (where there are brick pillars marking the entrance). Walk on Prospect Bvld a few blocks to the bridge over Seco Street. Turn around and return, but on the way back turn right on Prospect Crescent, a c-shaped street that begins and ends on Prospect Blvd. There is a Frank Lloyd Wright house on Prospect Crescent, in poor repair but interesting to peek at. And many other fine circa 1900 houses along this walk. Return to car. Total time, 45 min-1 hour at an amble.

There is a fairly easy Eaton Canyon Trail to the waterfall.

Park car near Eaton Canyon Nature Center which is only a several miles north of Downtown Pasadena,

Here is a youtube video of it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiDslhNx_Wc

Not sure if there are water falls this time of year since there hasnt been much rain in months, but if there are natural springs then there should be some water possibly, but who knows.

There might be rain tomorrow so that might bring some water to the area or at least make things a little greener.
