DisneyLand and other parks tickets

Hello Everyone.

We are looking to come to LA in early April. Can anyone offer advice regarding tickets and getting best value? We are taking a 13 year old boy. We plan to stay in Anaheim, maybe at a Super 8??

thank you fellow tripadvisors.

Hello Tickers,

Its a good idea for you to post Disneyland questions in the Anaheim forum where Disneyland is located, which is about a 45 min drive from the LA area

Its also helpful to include dates you will be in Anaheim, and a budget per night you want to spend on somewhere to stay.

The Mousesavers website is a good resource for you that lists current discounts on attractions for you (they do not sell tickets)

http://www.mousesavers.com/dltickets.html

One good value right now is the Promotional 3 day and up tickets being offered on the Disneyland.com website.

Here is a Map of hotels in the Disneyland area to get you started, the Disneyland Main Entrance is off of Harbor Blvd near where it says "East Shuttle Area" on the Map.

Start by checking www.mousesavers.com They focus more on the Disney parks but they list discounts for pretty much all of the theme parks in the LA, Orange County and San Diego areas. Note Mousesavers does not sell tickets, it only lists available discounts.

Usually buying tickets to the individual attractions separately works out better, especially if you take advantage of the discounts you'll find listed at Mouse Savers above, but there are also a few regional discount cards where you pay a set fee and then have the opportunity for admission to many different attractions within a set time period. Sometimes these can be better deals. One of these cards is the Southern California CityPass: www.citypass.com/SouthernCalifornia

Hi There Happytotrip and Matchthree

We are due to arrive in LA on 1st April. We leave from San Fran on 14th April. Thanks for the information on tickets. I was not expecting them to be so much. The citypas options looks good value - 5 parks for £178.

For accommodation we were planning on spending no more than $100 per night for all of us, ideally less.

We are trying to decide on the itinary and whether or not to go to Las Vegas. That might be trying to do too much in 14 days especially with a 13 year old. Any thoughts? I do really want to see Las Vegas again!

The SoCal City Pass mentioned is usually a good value if you are planning on visiting all of the listed attractions.

On the Mousesavers website, you can compare the SoCal City pass to purchasing individual tickets to see what may be best for you

Just so you are aware, the full week before Easter Sunday is one of the busiest times of the year at Disneyland as well as alot of other Theme Park since its Spring Break that week for most Elementary and Secondary Schools. So its a good idea for you to book somewhere to stay in Anaheim ASAP.

For more help with Hotels ect and Disneyland questions, its a good idea to visit the Anaheim forum.

You can stay direclty across the street from the Disneyland Main Entrance and easily walk to Disneyland in a few minutes, most of those are standard Motels.

Spring Break is a more expensive time for Hotels as well and those are also popular so they book up quite far in advance.

You may have a harder time finding something in that budget close to Disneyland Main Entrance, most of those would be in the $130 a night range during Spring Break time.

And you should be aware that Anaheim adds a 17% tax and alot of places charge for parking.

Some well rated places you might want to look that should be easily under $100 with taxes included would be

The Alpine Inn....... its about a 14 min walk to the Turnstiles that go into Disneyland. Free Parking Free Continental Breakfast.

Super 8 on Katella..... about a 14 min walk with free Continental breakfast and Free Parking.(there are various Super 8 motels in the area, you would want to make sure it was the one located on Katella)

These standard Motels would also have the Art Shuttle service which goes from Disneyland to alot of area Hotels multiple times per day for a small fee per person.

FYI, the SoCal CityPass is the most popular, since it is the only one that offers a Disneyland Resort ParkHopper. But there are other combos in case you are interested in parks like Six Flags Magic Mountain, Knott's Berry Farm, LEGOLAND and the San Diego Zoo. (There is an option with the CityPass to add on the San Diego Zoo, but you MUST buy it at citypass.com.)
