2 Days in LA

Hi Guys

Hoping for some suggestions on which order to see things. We arrrive at LAX 11/28/11 for 2 nights at 7:05am from Vegas (crazy early I know)

I've narrowed down what we would like to see/do

the WB tour in lieu of universals , Santa Monica Pier/ maybe Venice beach, and the usual hollywood site seeing (Rodeo Drv, Walk of fame etc etc) (not interested in anything Disney)

I'm not 100% sure which things are near what and how long it takes to get there etc.. we won't have a car but we are pretty comfortable with Public transport

look forward to your suggestions!

Hi,

From reading what you have said you want to visit, you should jump on a Starline Tours bus.

This tour sounds like the one for you:

starlinetours.com/los-angeles-tour-25A.asp

That way you get to see your beaches, Hollywood locations, Rodeo Drive etc... as well as other sites.

Theres also a $5 off coupon here - visitcalifornia.com/media/…20Coupon_Fall.jpg

Plus another coupon you may find useful:

Enjoy :)

Do not bother with Venice Beach during the week. It is now "off season" and anything you hoped to see will probably be limited to weekends if the weather is nice.

One possible place to stay is Westwood which is in between Santa Monica and Hollywood. To reach Santa Monica from Westwood, take any westbound bus aliong Wilshire Bl (20 minutes). To reach Hollywood from Westwood, take the #2 bus eastbound (it stops in a number of places in Westwood; the ride is about 35 minutes). Warner Bros is a 25-minute bus ride from Hollywood (further away from Westwood) or consider taking a tour of Sony Studios which is closer to Westwood. To transfer between LAX and Westwood, there is an express bus called the Westwood Flyaway bus ($10).

Taking a tour is great but you need to stow your luggage at your hotel first. Another option as far as getting around is to take the Starline Hop On, Hop Off (HoHo) tour. It stops at dozens of tourist attractions (Including Westwood, Santa Monica and Hollywood -- you'd have to take a bus from Hollywood to WB, or get off the HoHo at Pico Bl & Overland Av (at the Westside Pavilion Mall) and take a short bus ride to Sony Studios). You can take the HoHo for 24 hours or (for a little bit more money) 48 hours. The bus actually stops running around 6 pm so it's not really 24 hours. This will get you around our city and also give you an on-going commentary.

You'll need to do some planning since your attractions are far apart. In addition, the HoHo consists of 4 intersecting bus routes. So, you'll need to determine which route each of your attractions is on and transfer accordingly. (You can ride all of the routes as much as you wish for the cost of a 24 or 48 hour ticket).

Here's a map that will give you an idea of where everything is located:

Warner Bros isn't shown on the map but it's just northeast of Universal Studios. Sony Studios is also not shown on the map but it's just east of Venice (near the tip of the red arrow that is pointing downward).

Have you read our FAQs to learn about public transit?
