Hotel stay after Cabazon shopping

We would be shopping at desert hills premium outlet on 25 Nov. Intend to stay a night first before we drive to Las Vegas. We are considering Hampton Inn & Suites Banning-Beaumont. Any comments of this hotel?

Thanks.

You will be so close to Palm Springs, why not spend the night there?

The reviews look good. Palm Springs opens up more choices for you and perhaps some good locations. I am not a Vegas person so don't know if that is on route to there.

The thing that you really need to know is you are planning to shop on the busiest shopping day of the year in America, the day after Thanksgiving Day. It is the one day when you can absolutely count on crowds. The entire weekend will see crowds in stores, but that day will be the worst.

I hear there are some good stores/outlets in Vegas. It might be wise to use that day as a travel day to get to Vegas and shop the next day, rather than shop first, stay in Banning next to a freeway, then travel. I am assuming your previous stay will be Anaheim.

OK, which way are you go to Las Vegas? Are you planning to head west and then up the Cajon Pass using Interstate 15? If so, i would recommend one of the Ayres Hotels in Ontario. A local Southern California chain highly rated here at TA.

If you are head east and planning to take I-10 east to the Nevada Border, and the drive up the 95, the Palm Springs/Palm Desert area is a great choice. Some of the Indian Casinos in the area have nice Hotels at a decent price, and tend to be cheaper, as they want you on their property and walking by the Slot Machines going to and from your room.

I believe traveling to Ontario from Cabazon would take you much further west of the Cajon Pass and is quite a drive as well. There is a practically brand new Ayres Hotel in Redlands, which openned maybe in the last year. Redlands is west of Beaumont (I haven't much if a clue about Banning but keep hearing it together with Beaumont. I have a family member who lives in Beaumont and another who works there.) There is another town between Redlands and Beaumont, so they are not really neighbors, but the Ayres is next to the 10 fwy and pretty close to the interchange for the 210 as well as the 215 - if those help you to get to Cajon Pass.

This particular Ayres is not in a beautiful location. Although Redlands has a few very pretty locations hotels are mostly centered near the freeway where there are several food choices and stores. Ayres happens to be next to the Ford dealership, but not right up next to it. It is interestingly built because looking at it in passing it seems like it was designed to make guests feel like they are tucked away in a private area. I always want to stop in and see if that is true. If you want to stay there, though, I would say ask for an upper floor away from the freeway. I am just guessing, but I think you might see the many trees of the southern part of Redlands in the distance.

If you want to go further west, near the interchange of the 10 and 215 freeways, San Bernardino has the Hospitality Lane district that runs along the north side of the freeway. Some new hotels were added recentely and I believe I saw an Ayres. Hampton Inn too. There are many restaurants within the streets lined with pine trees. There are also stores, but the main focus is the hospitality business and well designed office buildings, so it is a pleasantarea morning or night. This area is perhaps 40 minutes from Cabazon and Redlands is perhaps 25.

That said, might be nice to stay at Morongo!

Note: Some of the drive between Cabazon and Redlands is pretty dark at night.

But the benefit of Ontario is another large Oultet Mall, Onario Mills.

So the OP could do the Cabazon/Desert Hills combo in the day, and then Ontario Mills in the late afternoon/early evening.

After all my suggestions I still think Friday, November 25 is a super bad day to go shopping. Bottom line really is go to Vegas that day and with the name and directions of a good outlet in Vegas go shopping on the 26th or 27th, better yet Monday the 28th.

You mean desert hills premium outlets will be really packed on 25 Nov? I thought only the stores at Macy's in town would be crowded...

We plan to head west to take I-15. From the map, Hampton Inn & Suites Banning is near the freeway and a short drive from desert hills premium outlets. We thought this could be a good choice as we intend to shop late on 25 Nov. The following day, we will head to Las Vegas.

How bad is shopping on 25 Nov? Is it really so crowded? We have never experience shopping on Black Friday in America.

We will be arriving in LA on 21 Nov. Will be travelling to Santa Barbara and LA before we head to Las Vegas. Hence, we will take a stop at Desert Hills PO for shopping, and coincidentally, this day falls on 25 Nov. Thinking of taking this chance to grab some good deals. However, after all the comments, we are now considering if we should change our itinerary so that we will not end up on shopping on 25 Nov.....

Any views??
