Casa Marina Reef - Solo Traveller

Was at CMR about 20 years ago. Looking to return on a solo trip end of Mar. How is the place now? Are there many solo travellers? What about the age group? Looking for relaxation but also a bit of socializing. I remember having a great time there way back. Also enjoyed the walk in town. Any info on the place would be appreciated.

Well it's not as it was 20 yrs ago bit dated now ....

but rooms are kept clean, food is edible, staff are friendly. Only one reception open now but they do a great job. Not been since January 2016 but always been a good mixture of guests when I've stayed and i will be returning January 2018 :)

The best part about the resort is the town and the beaches

Cuba end of March is normally OK but yes, can get a bit cool (like Mexico). I am sure the resort has changed since my last visit there and I'm sure the town has also changed. Did visit Sosua 5 years ago when we stayed in PP. Just looking for a nice relaxed solo holiday so narrowed it down to 2 or 3 options including Casa Marina Reef.

Just returned from 11 days at CM, CM does not have a large lobby or gathering place to socialize . Not sure if your Solo trip needs that or not. Social evenings in clubs in town will be ... let's say interesting.

All depends on what your Solo trip interests are.

Slyguy ....yeah there is a disco at CM

Most people either gather in the theatre if theres a show or around the sunset bar, or around the Marlin bar that has a small stage and the disco near it
