San Luis Waterfall is Permanently closed, due to high risk

Dear friends and visitors, As a promoter of tourism in the Monteverde area, I want to take this opportunity to inform the general public and especially future visitors that unfortunately, the beautiful San Luis Waterfall, one of the most spectacular I have visited throughout Costa Rica, is closed to the public.

The trail leading to the waterfall presents materiale constant landslides and falling rocks, representing a serious danger to hikers. The danger is real and imminent, a few months ago the Monteverde community mourned, with the loss of a dear neighbor of the community.

A call to the visitors and neighbors to take this into consideration, thank you for your attention.

att. Carlos Jimenez
