There are lots of benefits staying in Pacific Harbour. It's a long drive from Nadi, but you get to see the wonderful country side and local villages on the way. We have only stayed at The Pearl and both times were great. Your not limited to where you can eat. The Arts Village is 10-15 min walk and a taxi will cost you $5. We ate at Bakka Blues and Oasis and both were excellent. You can also walk to Club Oceanus by the river, great cheap dinner, the Roti was awesome, they sent me the recipe! The beach is good, and there are lots of trips you can do (Benqa Island, Terra Trek) Hope this helps...Have a great stay. Deb

Our last trip was to Pacific Harbour, as mentioned it is a fair drive. We stayed at the Pearl and thoroughly enjoyed it. When we went it wasn't too full, so plenty of space, peace and quiet. The walk to the Arts Village is lovely, helps work off all the extra food and drink, about 10 minutes and safe to walk day and night. We too loved Baka Blues Cafe (they have a FB page). From The Pearl you can walk along the beach to the Uprising. We enjoyed a lovely meal and drinks there. We also did the Zip line (3rd time) from here. We took a day trip to Yanuca Island with Dive Fiji (have FB page) for snorkelling and lunch. The staff were great, really made our day special. We chose Pacific Harbour for somewhere different having stayed on Islands, Coral Coast and Denarau on many visits. Check out the reviews for the Resorts, Arts Village and Pacific Harbour here on TA?

Good luck on your choice and Happy Holidays.

3. Re: Pearl

Just came from the Pearl- our prime motivation was that we had two tours booked (Terratrek dune buggy/waterfall tour and snorkelling out to Beqa Lagoon- both of which I can recommend). I was sceptical at first but Pacific Harbour really is fantastic. Yes, the drive is horrendously long, but it's a great area with a supermarket, lots of dinning options as mentioned above and a nice area to have a walk around.

We stayed at the Pearl and would easily stay there again. The atmosphere is great and the staff- particularly at the bar/Bistro are awesome (ask for Susana- she'll look after you). A few nights at the Pearl is a great change from the usual spots you'll stay when in Fiji. Enjoy!

How long is the drive? We're going by road from Nadi to Pacific Harbour and I thought it was only about two hours? I mean not short, but is that classed as horrifically long?

choccie_button,

The drive is about 2 1/2 hours- takes so long as it's 80 kph, and 50 through the many villages along Queens Road. It feels like forever after you've gotten off the plane! Don't let any of that deter you though, it is worth the trip out!

Thanks for clarifying :) Luckily we have a week at First Landing when we land, so will be nice and refreshed for the car journey to Pacific Harbour. Will just sit back with a book. It must feel like an eternity when you've got off a long haul flight and are dying to get to your resort though!

Are any water activities complimentary at Pearl? Can you snorkel there, or need to travel to do so?
