Beach Bums with a 3 yr old

Hi All

Going to GS late Apr/early May with our 3yo baby who loves the beach. We're staying at a reasonable hotel with bfast included (so key when traveling with the baby!). I'm just wondering what's our best bet for which beaches to go to. We'll have a rental car and no prob with getting sand in it lol. It looks like the state park has beaches, but not sure if that's a better bet or the public beach. We're in town for 10 days so I'm sure we'll wind up everywhere, but just wanted to get a better idea of a gameplan as to which beaches offer what (rental chairs/umbrellas/etc), more seclusion, etc. Thanks so much in advance for any help!

State park....bathrooms, dressing rooms , snack bar, lots of parking. Please be careful of the sun... you will still burn easily... The state park also has a pavillion on thr fresh water side of the road..just go to Walmart and buy chairs, umbrella. Any reason you chose hotel over condo?. Look at vrbo.

See you in Newmarket, NOTL this July!

I would consider getting a condo instead of the hotel, you will have beach right out your front door, and room to roam , as well as a kitchen , which saves on dining out .

Condos are also cheaper in most cases

All of the beach is pretty much equal. State Park, as suggested, would probably the be best bet with a little one. Like Fels said it has a pavilion with picnic tables. Ft. Morgan is much more secluded. Very pretty but no bathroom facilities. And like Felschurch said, sunscreen is a must. Even it is cool and cloudy. Have fun! Great time to come!
