Hiring a driver/support staff and coach for 25 Rajasthan

Good evening from New Zealand

Having previously travelled through Rajasthan 15 years ago the task has been left to myself to organise an itinerary and assistance staff/vehicles for a group work trip in October 2014. Yes, its a way off but we plan to do it properly.

We are a group of 20 - 24 dependant on final numbers.

The itinerary for now and accommodation is taken care of and not part of this question, suffice to say we will be arriving and departing from Delhi and doing 'the loop'.

My question is that surrounding a coach and a support vehicle with staff. I refer to a quality coach, with driver, and guide followed by a support vehicle with driver/security for further assistance and transport upon arriving at destinations and general duties.

Reliability and quality are required, really 24 hour attendance from both machine and staff.

Duration from pick up to drop off would be 12 days.

I am unsure of advertising laws here and am not looking to be barraged with marketing touts please, just reliable information and pricing indications please and maybe a name to google etc.

Thank you kindly in advance

Simon

With a group this size, doing your own bookings and arrangements on a piecemeal basis is being penny-wise pound-foolish. What you need is a tour escort, someone on the bus who will help manage the group, so that you are not the one herding the group and solving problems. Or else you won't have a holiday, you'll just be frazzled trying to sort out other people's problems. Things happen on trips. People fall ill. They forget passports. Roads get blocked. You do NOT want to be handling these things in some remote road in Rajasthan, trying to communicate with a driver. Hotels should also ideally be called ahead of your arrival, and reconfirmed and told when to expect you. Luggage needs to be counted, loaded, unloaded. Also, on the way from one city to another, there are many interesting sights. If you have an experienced guide/escort, you will understand so much more - life in the countryside, farming seasons, rural social life, and what not. Please get someone experienced to do this. You also need guides for monuments and bazaars in individual cities, otherwise you will be swamped by touts. Go contact a tour agent who organises group trips and get them to sort out not just the vehicle, but an experienced tour escort, as well as knowledgeable local guides in each city. Many tour escorts are themselves licensed guides and they can double up as guides at the monuments also.

Deepa ji advise you correctly , you should deal with any Tour Operator instead of Travel agent ( Transporter). There are many premium tour operators in Delhi who can provide you transportation , Escort, Local guide as well as can book hotels too.

Cox N Kings, LPTI , Ancient India Travels a few name.....

Rajasthan is a safe place and you do not need a security. The coaches here come with a driver and a helper. One can hire a medium car in addition to the coach which can follow the coach and this medium car can be used for emergency. You already have some reliable transporters name. However, booking the coach through a tour operator will ensure a good quality coach along with reliability. They can also help you do the routing if required. Obviously they can also take care of the guide services.

have a nice journey
