My wife and I are planning 2 weeks in India during the last week on October and the first week in November. We are a mature couple who want to start in Delhi and end up with a week on the beach. Can someone please suggest an itinerary.

Hello notsointrepid,

Welcome to the forum! Is this your first time in India? If so, I would highly suggest doing a Golden Triangle tour (Delhi-Agra-Jaipur) and then head down to Goa for one week on the beach. The Golden Triangle Tour should take about 6 to 7 days if done properly.

If you do not want a full week on the beach, you can always add something on to the Golden Triangle, but as you stated, you do want one week, and I do not blame you! I had a week there in March and it was heaven! ;)

Goa is just lovely and there are many different areas to stay, so make sure to research the right area for you to stay in. Some are more vibrant and busy, others are more lazy and peaceful. You will love it. If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask!

Welcome to TA forum,

You can do Delhi>Varanasi>Agra>Jaipur in 1 week...all the cities in GT are well connected by train and road network.....You can start in Delhi with 2 nights...proceed to Varanasi 2 nights by flight/train...overnight train to Agra 1 night....train or car to Jaipur 2 nights and 1 week in Goa(Beach)..

If doing any train journey please book train tickets as soon as possible through www.irctc.co.in

As far as weather is concerned in Oct/Nov is going to be pleasant.

Haha, brought a smile to my face, "notsointrepid", lol. I feel like that these days as I approach 50 in a couple of years! I have just one suggestion, please don't waste your India time loitering on a beach, if you do want to relax, at least get to the unique Kerala backwaters and lounge on a houseboat instead!

And if you do want a beach, then south Goa is relatively unspoilt.

Agree with Deepa. It appears that this is your first trip to India and you have limited time. In which case why not go for experiences that are unique to India.

There are better desert camps, beaches and safaris in other countries. Why come to India to enjoy these.
