Hi, we will be in Kandy for 2 nights in January. We have read about the air pollution. How for out do we need to stay so as to avoid this, please? Any advice / suggestions gratefully received. Thank you.
It is not that bad to be scared. Except in the centre of the town during rush hour. Still it is not unbearable IMO
Most hotels may not get affected except Qeens hotel which is in the heat of the town

Any hotel not around the city center would do and most hotels are up in the hills so should be good
Thank you. I hadn't seen this. My initial concerns were due to an article in Ceylon Today earlier in the year. I appreciate the responses given so we will look for a place to stay following the advice. Vicky
It is terrible . We travelled I n a tuc tuc and feel ill . Never again !
Thank you, we head out tomorrow, we will only be there of 2 nights but not looking forward to it. Hope you recover quickly.
I was there yesterday and believe me it was better then my hometown. The air smelled pure.
Book any of the hotels near the kandy viewpoint and you should just be fine.
