Sao Paulo - Iguazu

Sao Paulo - Iguazu

Hi - looking for recommendations for a safe but cheapish tour option from Sao Paulo - Iguazu falls. Looking for recommendations of flights VS bus (cost/time/safety), accommodation (preferably on the Brazilian side to avoid crossing Argentine border) and a full day tour/sightseeing of the falls if possible. Possible dates are around the beginning of Feb (2nd - 5th), I will be travelling with a male but prefer to be safe rather than sorry!

Thanks in advance for your help :)

Go by plane: it's cheaper, (much!) faster, and safer than going by bus.

Welcome, I would also recommend flying. A bus would take over 14 hours one way and the roads in some areas are needing repair and travel all night. Gol, LATam Avianca, Azul all fly into Foz do Iguacu.FallsThe airport here is very close to the Falls.

San Martin is close to both the and the airport (IGU) which would save on taxi fare. There are other hotels also.

Check this TA site for hotels and se what fits your budget and if you like let us know your choices and we will be glad to help if needed.

I recommend buying air ASAP as the price goes up the closer to travel time.

Hi Imogen!

I think the trip by bus is quite safe in Brazil, even for solo female travelers... The bus are great in comfort and though they are slower, you can easily get some rest in their chairs before arriving at your destination. You can take a look at fares, schedules and more information in here: https:/…sao-paulo-tiete-sp-x-foz-do-iguacu-pr

For accomodation, there are several hotels and hostels (cheaper) in the city center or near Avenida das Cataratas, that is on the way to tourist attractions! Some options are Tetris Container Hostel or Concept. ;)
