Nagasaki mass times

Hi, We will be travelling to Nagasaki in May and would like to find out the Sunday and weekday mass times. I haven't been able to find a website that will help me. We would like to visit the Cathedral if possible. Thanks for your help,

There is the Archdiocese of Nagasaki website (only in Japanese) at http://www.nagasaki.catholic.jp/. There is a list of parishes with Mass times, again only in Japanese.

Urakami Cathedral has Mass on weekdays (all in Japanese) at 6 am and at 10 am on First Friday. Sunday Mass is at 7 pm (vigil), 6 am, 7.30 am (children's Mass), 9.30 am and 6.30 pm.

There is English Mass on Sundays at 12.30 pm at the Jesuit St Philip's Church next to the Memorial to the 26 Martyrs, on a hill near Nagasaki station. http://www.26martyrs.com/

When you walk up the slope of Nishizaka, 26 Martyr Monument and its museum is our left hand side of the road and the church is on your right. St Philip of Jesus Church may be known to local as Nishizaka Church. Like other Catholic churches in Nagasaki Prefecture, take off your shoes at the entrance.

Two churches, Shitsu Church and Ono Church, are listed in UNESCO Cultural World Heritage in Nagasaki city. Both are in northern outskirt Sotome district. If you want to visit those, inform Church Information Centre of your intended date and approximate time. A volunteer will wait for you.

Church Information Centre is located at south end of the 2nd level in Dejima Wharf. You may visit there for further information while you're in Nagasaki.
