Nankai Train to Wakayama

Our extended family of 8 will be travelling from Osaka to Wakayama in Nov. Ages range from 18mths old to 70+ years old.

What is the difference between these 2 trains?

1. Nankai Ltd. Exp. Southern

2.Nankai Main Line Exp

Which is the more comfortable train to travel in? Which train has space for luggages? Will they have toilets on any of these trains? Do they sell bento on these trains?

Thanks for any inputs as it will help us to be prepared.

Take the Limited Express. I also suggest you pay a little more for a reserved seat. The train has toilets and overhead luggage racks. For bentos, it's best that you buy something from the train station or department store for better quality and choices.

Isn't it a JR Train

Umeda and/or Osaka? In order to book the hotel stay!

Nankai is a private railway company. It is NOT JR. Their terminal station is Namba.

From Umeda, you can take the Midosuji subway to Namba and take the Nankai train. You can also take the same subway to Shin-Osaka or Tennoji and take the JR Ltd. Express Kuroshio. If you don't mind a slow train, you can take the JR Kishuji Kaisoku to Wakayama (takes 1.5 hours) at JR Osaka Station which is right next to Umeda.

Antz_12,

Where are you going to in Wakayama? Nankai Wakayama station and JR Wakayama station are not adjacent each other.

The Nankai Main Line from Namba would be the best and most comfortable when traveling with many people.

Like many others have said it’s reserved seating. So the seats are similar to that on an air plane. The seat in front of you will have a place to rest items as well.

Note, this train is more expensive, but nicer. I take this train to church in Osaka from KiiYamada every once in awhile.

Make sure to buy reserved seats for your group so that you can sit near each other.
