Courtyard by Marriott Vs Sofitel

We love the kids facility from both of the hotel! for Courtyard by Marriott dislike the loaction a bit far from the city but LOVE the price. Sofitel, like the location but hated the prices. It will cost me aboout 5,000 B more to stay here per night. Is it a difficult for us ( 2adults & 3 yr old) to travel from Courtyard by Marriott to town and back???

That sounds a very high difference in price, do make sure you are getting a 'good deal' - most of the best deals are local here in Thailand.

Sofitel in right in the center of town however in lush gardens / grounds right on the beach. One side is absolute beachfront whilst the other side/s you step right into the town area and just steps to restaurants, shops (bars if you wish ) and easy stroll to the Waterfront area and walkable to main night market.

From Marriott 'some' do walk into town other would tuk-tuk, most will tuk-tuk or samlor rickshaw back. With a 3 yr old if you tuk tuk it takes just a matter of minutes. There are also a/con taxi cars that will tke you if you wish.

So there is a difference in location but it's not a biggy.

Sorry..............I read too fast, above refers to 'Marriott Resort' Hua Hin which is very different location from Courtyard by Marriott

Courtyard by Marriott Cha Am beach area it would have to be taxi about 15-17 mins region or their shuttle

More pics and map of Sofitel:

Perhaps it's a case of you get what you pay for. Having stayed at the Sofitel in June I have to say we could not fault it. Beautiful hotel, fabulous villas and in a first class location.

Chalk and Cheese! The hotel styles are very, very different.

If you are just after a beach resort holiday with a 3 year old, then Courtyard is fine.

However, if you are also looking for a little more Thainess and things to do for yourselves without more taxi hassle then go for Hua Hin Sofitel.

You can use a stroller in the streets of Hua Hin quite easily (you will need transport for the toddler, because it is too hot to pick up and carry all the time!!). You can pop in and out of Sofitel (thinking of travel/rest times with little one), any time of day and find something new to see and do.

As Monica says make sure you are really getting the best Deal prices for Sofitel, as the difference in costs are worth it.
