Hi Razia,

It is all now about official registration. Can only be done at Grapari Telkomsel offices.

There are no Grapari Telkomsel shops in Sanur.

You can still buy a pre-registered SIM at a local phone shop in Sanur but no guarantee how long it will work.

So "officially' your only options are to buy at the airport at inflated prices or go to the Grapari Telkomsel shop at the Mal Bali Galeria (or any Telkomsel shop in Denpasar).

People have sometimes experienced long waits at the Galeria Shop.

Hi NotaPigsty

I haven’t been to Bali since registration was required but will probably be returning later this year. Do you know the cost difference between doing this at the airport and in Galleria? As we’ll be staying in Sanur, factoring in the cost of a trip to Galleria, perhaps it might be the same?

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

@ travelKat88

Don't go to the Galleria store, go to the one farther up Sunset.

I reckon I was out within 20 min.

Airport sold it 3-4X more than the price. I didn’t buy sim card at DPS airport. They were selling 6GB 7 days for 400k rupiah while I got it for 75k in Ubud

I went to an official seller in Sanur opposite Hardy's a couple of weeks ago.

I purchased a 8 gb (or may have been 10 gb) for $15

It worked fine the whole two weeks I was there and had plenty of data left over when I left.

You just need to bring your passport which he scans (in front of you).

Troy is correct. I get 14 GB of data every month from Telkomsel. Price is 81,000.

If you use WhatsApp (via data) the card does not need to be registered.

Hi, we travel to Bali tomorrow, do you remember the name of the shop or was it inside Hardy’s mall in Sanur?
