I am planning to visit Jaisalmer and Jodhpur sometime in Aug'10 for 4-6 nights. Is this a good time to visit ?
You can certainly visit both of the places in August as due to monsoon, the summer heat is gone..
It's obviously not the best time to visit weather wise, that would be over the winter, but we were there in August last year and the temperature, although high (35-40 Degrees) is a very dry heat and also there also often strong desert winds which also make it feel cooler. It was bearable for us from UK, so since it looks as if you are an Indian resident, I am sure it will be fine for you.
The other benefit is that there are fewer tourists and room rates are better!
You should be able to handle the heat!! The plus is hotels have off season rates so ask for discounts
If you can defer, then it'll be good.
But if that's the only time you have for it, go for it.
Well ... its heat but not all day. You can visit the city in morning or in evening and rest in afternoon. Mostly hot in afternoon. Nights are cool. There will be lots of tourists from the Europe.
yeah it is hot but it is interesting as Gadisar lake is overflow and certainly ladakh .. to skip from heat is best,, cannot compare with jaisalmer...
if you get lucky it can rain during your stay and then it will be the best time to visit a desert area.
That's ture ........
If u get rain during ur stay in Jaislamer it's kind of to have show fall in Kashmir. Human Being of Jaisalmer are reallt seeking for rain from long time. but that is ture if u get rain wather will be best.
